A Review on Mitigation of Greenhouse Gases by Agronomic Practices towards Sustainable Agriculture

نویسندگان

چکیده

Agriculture is one among the sources of greenhouse gas emission in World. Agriculture, being a prominent source economic sectors developing countries its impact on environmental climate changes both directly and indirectly through gases. To achieve reduced GHGs emissions agriculture sector, there need to adopt smart activities improved food nutritional security ensure climate-smart sustainable agriculture. This short article explores key ways mitigate green house gases critically highlights potential for bacterial nitrogen fixation soybean which recent approach. Symbiotic shows great mitigation while supporting simultaneously. Other agronomic practices include tillage, residue management, rice field agriculture, organic farming bio energy etc. will help farmers other stakeholders bring an environmentally friendly towards more ecological approach future sustainability.

Nutritional Mitigation of Greenhouse Gases

Methane (CH4), carbon dioxide (CO2), nitrous oxide (N2O), and halocarbons are greenhouse gases (GHG) that are able to trap heat in the atmosphere by radiating less heat into the space and increase the effect of solar and thermal radiation on surface and atmospheric temperatures (Knapp et al., 2014). In 2014, total U.S. GHG emissions measured 6,870 million metric tons of CO2 equivalents. Agricul...

Greenhouse Gas Mitigation through Agriculture

Greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions can be reduced or atmospheric GHGs sequestered to help reduce the future extent of climate change. Options to do this through agriculture have received increasing attention during the last decade. Some see agriculture as a potential low-cost provider of emission reductions in the near future with additional environmental and income distributional cobenefits. Other...

Greenhouse gas mitigation in agriculture.

Agricultural lands occupy 37% of the earth's land surface. Agriculture accounts for 52 and 84% of global anthropogenic methane and nitrous oxide emissions. Agricultural soils may also act as a sink or source for CO2, but the net flux is small. Many agricultural practices can potentially mitigate greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, the most prominent of which are improved cropland and grazing land m...

Mitigation of Greenhouse Gases in Agricultural Ecosystems

Modern cropping systems use substantial amounts of fossil energy in the form of fertilizers, pesticides, and fuel for field operations. An important environmental consequence of this use is the emission of greenhouse gases (GHGs) to the atmosphere, from sources both direct and indirect. Direct sources include fossil fuel used for tillage and other field operations as well as GHGs produced and c...
